Hello friends,
It’s hard to believe another year is ending. As 2019 draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on how I want to improve myself, especially my service to others. In 2020, I pledge to be even more accessible to my constituents. Truly, some of the best pieces of legislation I’ve sponsored have come to me from issues constituents have brought to my attention. You have a role to play in how our Commonwealth is governed, and I intend to give you as many opportunities as possible to exercise that right.
Keep an eye on these e-newsletters and on my website for events coming up this year. For example, I’ll be hosting a series of Coffee with Constituents throughout the district. We’ll let you know about events as the dates approach.
In Harrisburg I’ll continue to serve as Democratic Chair of the Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee and also as Democratic Vice-Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee. I consider it an honor to represent Berks County and my district in these committees.
My to-do list certainly has some unfinished business, like addressing the problem of school property taxes and I am also still focused on reforms to our child welfare system. These initiatives and more will take the combined efforts of the entire state legislature but I’m determined to do my part.
As you reflect on the new year, I hope you think about ways to improve your communities, and if anything requires legislation or assistance from my staff, please bring it to my attention.
Have a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year,
Judy
Being Social
It’s a privilege to be your state senator, so it is important to me to be in touch with you.
I really like face-to-face meetings but understand that in this busy world, sometimes that isn’t possible. Feel free to call my office to ask questions or make suggestions. Also, you may connect with me through my pages on Facebook and Twitter. Please follow me for regular updates and comments about what’s happening in the district and in Harrisburg. |
